FOP president wants painting removed from Cincinnati Art Museum

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A painting at the Cincinnati Art Museum is stoking debate for the reason that some say it crosses the line.

The portray is component of the exhibit “Black and Brown Faces: Having to pay Homage To.”

Titled “Mother Land Concept Park Black Panther Gift Shop,” it displays Winnie the Pooh with his arms handcuffed powering his back again as he lies face down in what seems to be a pool of his very own blood. Cincinnati Fraternal Get of Law enforcement President Dan Hils doesn’t like what he sees.

“This is meant to divide citizens and their law enforcement, which is not great for the citizens,” he said Tuesday. “Without us, crime runs rampant. Killing results in being even a lot more commonplace.”

Hils says he was alerted to the portray when an officer’s wife named following her tour of the CAM with her little one.

Not everyone feels the same.

Baumgartner and fellow customer Sam Wesselman say they don’t want to see the portray taken down.

CAM officers say the artist of the painting, Magnus Juliano, designed the piece with the intention of inviting dialogue.

The portray is scheduled to stay on dispaly at the CAM till June 19.

Hils suggests he’s heading to ask for the portray to be taken out immediately.

“You know I assume you choose small tiny actions at a time.
