A Chatham martial arts group has its sights set on the nationwide championships after combating its approach to the highest of the rostrum provincially.

Armstrong Academy of Marital Arts gained two gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze medals on the 2022 Ontario Jiu Jitsu Affiliation Provincial Championships.

The match was held in Niagara Falls from December 3 and December 4.

Frank Brady took the gold within the blue belt grasp medium heavy division.

Brady gained the primary match by defeating Thomas Sniedzins of Primal MMA Academy with an armlock on the 1:10 mark.

“He then went on to finals to defeat Michael Salem of R1NG BJJ by 5-0,” stated Thomas Armstrong, the top teacher at Armstrong Academy. “He then went on to finals to defeat Michael Salem of R1NG BJJ by 5-0.”

Lamarche went on to the finals defeating Lilly Heuser of Niagara BJJ by armbar submission on the 1:33 mark of the match.

Within the child’s divisions, Alex Amores Carlone gained silver, Jeremy Lamarche gained bronze, Dominik Formosa gained bronze, and Isabelle Armstrong additionally gained bronze.
