“Delicate Energy” is an investigation of command with out power. It examines the alternative ways we yield, share or exert energy as people and inside communities. The work subverts expectations of energy by asking: What does energy appear to be with out the necessity for dominance? How is energy embodied when innate and never hard-fought? What’s energy rooted in respect? Energy with out ego?

Motion and complex constructions of design convey the energy inside softness, the efficiency of empathetic alternate, resilience cast in reflection, and propulsion stemming from confidence and belief. Simoneau is a French-Canadian choreographer exploring themes of intimacy, company, id, sexuality and energy. Rooted in type, her motion is created in reverence to its lineage, but subverts conventional methods of being inside dance by proposing new ones, based on her artist’s assertion.

She has been commissioned by The Juilliard Faculty, Charlotte Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, the Ailey Faculty, BalletX, the American Dance Pageant, and faculties, dance firms and festivals all through america and Canada. Simoneau was lately a choreography fellow at New York Metropolis Middle and obtained a 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship. She has additionally been a resident artist at Baryshnikov Arts Middle, NYU/Tisch, and a fellow of The NYU Middle for Ballet and the Arts, Ailey’s New Instructions Choreography Lab, and the Bogliasco Basis. She was awarded first place for choreography on the thirteenth Internationales Solo-Tanz-Theater Pageant in Stuttgart, Germany, for her solo “the gentleness was in her arms.”  

A self-proclaimed “late bloomer” within the dance discipline, Simoneau’s choreographic pursuits blossomed in parallel along with her extra formal technical coaching and efficiency expertise. Hers just isn’t a linear path from performer to choreographer, and he or she makes work and not using a pronounced partiality between up to date and ballet. She continues to hone her inventive voice nationally and internationally and divides her time between New York Metropolis and Montréal.
