Performed in the reduce-amount Bowen Theatre of Maryland Corridor, as very well as offered on-line, it lets for a extra personal experience.

“Constellations” kicks off the night, with choreography by dancer Isaac Martinez and music arranged and executed by Daniel Fecteau. In the initially part, “Tears in My Eyes”, Fecteau plucks the violin even though the dancers (Lindsey Bell, Karissa Kralik, Lauren Martinez, Ryan Massey, Cindy Scenario, Victoria Siracusa, Michael West, Carrie Cornelius, Marjorie O’Hearne, and Cassandra Hope) sort duos and groups, holding and spinning each and every other as they extend their legs and arms. In “Resurrections” the new music receives more rapidly and much more dramatic, as do the solos, duos, and trios, with dancers rapidly getting into and exiting the phase. In “The Stars in Your Eyes” the dancers congeal into a crowd and hoist a single of them up, just before turning and spinning each individual other and gliding throughout the stage. The music feels far more present-day, when the actions have a traditional really feel.

“Sanctuary in Chaos,” choreographed by dancer Lindsey Bell with songs by Dmitri Shostakovich, usually takes the opposite tack of pairing classical music to modern movements. The piece starts with 5 of the dancers (Future Billot, Sydney Giles, Anne Gutcher, Madison Sweeney, and Rowan Treece) standing and forming letters with their bodies, when the sixth (Michael West) sits in entrance of them, just before spinning on the ground. They bend and extend, reaching for every other as they spin by themselves. They toss them selves onto the floor and at instances cup their hands to their faces, as although to silently scream. It is spectacular how properly they pair these types of up to date movement to traditional audio, whilst at instances it can truly feel repetitive. The close, having said that, has a good shock that, as Bell writes in the plan, allows for “a launch of emotions.”

“Adagio from The Golden Age,” with choreography set by Dmitri Tuboltsev right after Grigorovich, continues the new music of Shostakovich, this time working with The Golden Age Op.22. Isaac Martinez and Victoria Siracusa sort a beautiful duo, practically frequently with each other. In the brief moments they are aside, they get to out to every other throughout the stage. Martinez lifts Siracusa in excess of his head and swings her around his again, in addition to spinning and extending their legs.

“Forever You” with choreography by founding Inventive Director Edward Stewart, works by using Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy Op. 46. The lead couple, Lindsey Bell and Ryan Massey, together with the other dancers (Caroline Anderson, Emily Carey, Hannah Hanson, Madeline Jones, Mia Koshansky, Audrey Martin, Brenna Mazzara, Clara Molina, Isabella Warshaw, and Catherine Welch), reveal their manage with sluggish, precise actions. Massey lifts Bell in excess of his head, even though the dancers spin and increase their legs.

“Paquita Pas de Deux,” with choreography set by present Artistic Director Nicole Kelsch following Petipa, usually takes tunes by Ludwig Minkus for a Spanish-themed dance. Lead few Emily Carey and Aaron Bauer have heaps of leg extensions and spins though posing their arms in a flamenco design and style. Meanwhile, the Corps de Ballet (Lena Easter, Karen Fleming, Savannah Eco-friendly, Meredith Hardin, Taylor Martin, Julie Smith, Rachel Spicer, and Victoria Walpole) variety a line behind them, extending and spinning.

“The Minimal Slippers” is an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s fairy tale, choreographed by Roman Mykyta to new music by Tchaikovsky. In the type of a Ukrainian people dance, which feels acceptable with present-day gatherings, it tells the comedian tale of Vakula (Isaac Martinez) who, while off to locate high-quality slippers for his beloved Oksana (Rowan Treece), wrestles with the devil (Michael West) and encounters Catherine the Wonderful (Cindy Scenario). The Peasants Corps de Ballet (Destiny Billot, Sarah Hoffman, Cassandra Hope, Clara Molina, and Isabella Warshaw) powerfully stomp their ft and slap their arms together. Treece uses leg movement perfectly to demonstrate emotions, clicking her legs in displeasure and extending them in anguish at Martinez’s absence. Martinez provides an incredibly actual physical performance, leaping throughout the stage and extending his legs from a crouching position. Re-enacting his fight with the satan, he radically throws punches and kicks.

The Witches (Carrie Cornelius, Marjorie O’Hearne, Rachael Spicer, and Madison Sweeney) are total of energetic movement, furiously spinning all over each individual other, then crawling up to Martinez to seize him. Michael West performs Behemoth the devil with excellent skill as a cat, slinking onto the stage and twirling towards his victims. His battle with Martinez is impressively athletic, leaping onto Martinez’s back many occasions and at the time, curving backward to crawl concerning his legs.
