Weekender Briefs: Catch live music at the Union, visit art galleries in Nelsonville

Friday, Oct 1

Athens Spot Stand Down from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Athens County Fairgrounds, 286 W. Union St. They will distribute pre-packaged materials and local community associates assistance info. The community, veterans and all those dealing with homelessness or at-possibility are welcome. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., it will be veterans only.

Brandon Jackson with Bethany Ballard at 8 p.m., hosted by Donkey Espresso & Espresso, 17 W. Washington St. Hear to two singer-songwriters’ dwell performances on the Donkey Phase for the evening.

Velvet Eco-friendly at 8 p.m., hosted at The Union, 18 W. Union St. Doors open up at 7 p.m. for the effectiveness. Delight in the functionality of stylings of Velvet Inexperienced on the Union stage.

Saturday, Oct 2

Athens Farmers Sector at 9 a.m., hosted by Athens Farmers Current market, 1002 E. State St. Shop for locally grown and regionally created food items and products at the farmers market. The marketplace accepts SNAP and credit history playing cards. Masks are advised, and social distancing protocols are in put.

The Athens Gravel Obstacle from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., hosted by Group Athens Biking and conference at the Eclipse Enterprise Retail store, 11309 Jackson Dr. in The Plains. Registration offers two distinct classes to race in, with rates different by group.

Hocking Makers Network from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., hosted by the Visible Arts Middle at Hocking Higher education, 3301 Hocking Parkway. Art demonstrations, suppliers and other routines will be offered.

Donkey Movie Evening: “Amy”, the Amy Winehouse documentary at 8 p.m., hosted at Donkey Coffee. Enjoy this informative documentary about a common artist.

Magic Ghrelin with WASP Manufacturing facility and KAIBA at 8 p.m., at The Union. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the general performance. Delight in the effectiveness of stylings of these artists on the Union stage.

Sunday, October 3

H2o and Mud Gallery: Watercolors and Ceramics by Maria Freed, Greg Grimm and Ikaika Grimm from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Starbrick Gallery, 21 W. Columbus St. in Nelsonville. This exhibit will characteristic realist watercolor paintings alongside with ceramics designed by the showcased artists.

Art Noveau and the Counterculture Motion: The Evolution of the Modern-day Poster from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Majestic Galleries, 20 Community Square in Nelsonville. The exhibition showcases pick posters from the Hashish Museum’s assortment.
