TORONTO, March 20, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Have fun and honour springtime at Ziigwan (SEE-gwon), a free three-day Indigenous music and humanities pageant at Yonge-Dundas Sq., March 24 – 26, 2023.
The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund and Downtown Yonge BIA, in collaboration with ELMNT FM Radio, Pink Music Rising, and Music Tourism, are happy to disclose the entire artist and vendor lineup for the pageant, that includes a few of the most outstanding and rising Indigenous artists, creators, and entrepreneurs.

Sunday, March 26 is Household Day at Ziigwan, the place GoodMinds Indigenous Books will promote a wide range of books catered to kids and youth, and the Sturdy Water Singers will facilitate studying activations so kids and households can interact in significant conversations about Indigenous cultures.
Later that day, Elder Dr. Duke Redbird will be part of us to shut this necessary gathering in a great way, sharing his ideas on Ziigwan (springtime) and our collective journey towards reconciliation. Dr. Redbird is an Elder from the Saugeen First Nation and a celebrated Indigenous Visionary, mental, poet, broadcaster, and filmmaker.
Ziigwan, the Anishnaabemowin phrase for springtime, celebrates the therapeutic and studying energy of music and artwork, the rebirth of spring, and the collective awakening. The pageant goals to deliver individuals collectively in one of many metropolis’s most outstanding areas, collectively reemerging from the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic.
