AC Continues Art Force Piano Series with “Dances and Romances” | KAMR
AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) —It’s a free celebration open up to the public showcasing some astounding new music.
Amarillo Higher education carries on their Art Pressure Piano Series on November 9th at 7:30 p.m. around at the Live performance Corridor Theater on AC’s Washington Street Campus.
Alex and Rachel Li McDonald present “Dances and Romances”.
The Juilliard-skilled McDonalds, who function the McDonald Music Studios in Plano, Texas, will carry out their arrangement of 5 actions from the Nutcracker, Piazzolla’s Grand Tango, Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne and more.
Pianist Alex McDonald manufactured his orchestral debut at age 11 and has since performed across the United States and in Israel, Mexico, Canada, Japan and South Korea. He has soloed with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de Mexico, the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Fort Truly worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Utah Symphony Orchestra, among other folks.
Mr. McDonald equally graduated from and taught at Juilliard School. He acquired the 2017 Outstanding Achievement Award in instructing from the Texas New music Teacher’s Association, and he presently is director of the Generally Beethoven Pageant, a flourishing summer live performance sequence in downtown Dallas’ Arts District.
Rachel Li McDonald is an accomplished violist who has actively done and taught all over North The usa and Japan due to the fact her debut chamber functionality at Carnegie Hall was broadcast on PBS.
She retains a bachelor’s diploma from The Julliard College, as effectively as a master’s diploma from Rice University. As a performer, Ms. McDonald has soloed with the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic and carried out as an orchestral musician in the Colburn Chamber Orchestra, Juilliard Orchestra, and Shepherd College of Songs Orchestra.
AC’s 2021-2022 Artwork Drive Piano Sequence kicked off in October with “Thirty Soiled Fingers,” in which 3 recent and former AC faculty customers at the same time shared the keyboard to produce a range of classical new music, from Debussy to Sousa.

Feb. 1, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. – “2022 Jam with Adore!” – featuring AC Music Faculty.
March 1, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. – “Forgotten Masterpieces of Central European Piano Music” – featuring Slawomir Dobrzanski.
April 5, 2022 – “Beethoven 250” – featuring David Palmer, artistic director of Chamber Music Amarillo.
