Fall Shorts Film Event brings artists, filmmaking news to Gadsden

Movie supporters —and specifically movie makers — are invited to Projex’s most recent screening celebration Saturday at the Gadsden Museum of Artwork.

The Slide Shorts Movie Party, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. is cost-free and open to the community.

In addition to screening 10 small film projects, organizer Jerry Ramsey said, the celebration will aspect speakers and movie information: the institution of the North Alabama Movie Fee, with Candace Krissie as inaugural president, Ramsey as founding chairman and Jacksonville Point out College movie professor Jeff Nichols as a founding board member.

Krissie and Ramsey, of Vacant Good deal Movies, released a trailer this summertime for their unbiased manufacturing, the psychological horror movie “A Darkish Corner,” penned and directed by Krissie.

The fee will serve numerous North Alabama counties and will be headquartered in Gadsden, Ramsey explained. The area desires a movie fee, he said, to make it “official” as a portion of the film business.
