Florida jogger used martial arts to fight off attacker who wanted his body for ‘fantasies’

A Florida teenager is billed with attempted murder right after deputies say he arrived up with a program to get rid of a jogger and hold his human body in a closet “to fulfill his sexual fantasies.”

Logan Smith, 18, of Cocoa allegedly attacked the jogger Monday, but his strategies had been thwarted when the sufferer overpowered him applying martial arts. Smith was reportedly detained until deputies arrived at the scene, in accordance to an arrest report attained by FOX 35 Orlando

Investigators said Smith had a rubber mallet, an aerosol can of Axe body spray, a belt from a gown and a sheet laid out in the driveway of his home to guide in his plot.  

“The defendant walked straight throughout his avenue wherever he hid powering a light pole. He placed the mallet and the Axe aerosol on the floor upcoming to him when he waited for the [victim] to occur jogging down the avenue as he did frequently for exercise,” the arrest affidavit states.

Smith then allegedly tossed the robe belt in excess of the victim’s head until finally it was all over the entrance location of the victim’s neck. The sufferer promptly realized what was happening, and applied his martial arts schooling to change the tables on his attacker.

Deputies say Smith admitted to looking at the victim’s routine for about six weeks and designed the conclusion to eliminate him soon after seeing a motion picture that confirmed violent, murderous functions. 

Smith reportedly in depth he was likely to eliminate the victim by strangulation, just before dragging his human body into his house on the bedsheet. He reported the mallet was meant to strike the victim, and the aerosol would be sprayed at the victim’s eyes, disabling his eyesight.

“He additional planned to put the victim’s body into his closet the place the defendant mentioned no 1 would know, and the defendant could have the victim’s human body all to himself. The defendant mentioned that he also planned to perform with the sufferer to satisfy his sexual fantasies,” the arrest report reported.

The sufferer advised deputies he operates about four moments a week and had never ever met, noticed or spoken to Smith.

Smith is getting held with no bond at the Brevard County Jail, in accordance to on-line booking records. He is scheduled to surface in courtroom on Feb. 10.
