EXETER — The 22nd Annual New Hampshire Modern society of Photographic Artists (NHSPA) Member Exhibit

EXETER — The 22nd Annual New Hampshire Modern society of Photographic Artists (NHSPA) Member Exhibit and Sale will be held Jan. 9 to Jan. 30, at the Exeter Town Corridor Gallery (Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.).

The Opening Reception will be on Sunday, Jan. 9, from 12 to 4 p.m.  A lot of of the photographers will be attending and available to reply issues about their operate.

This year’s highlighted picture is a handmade platinum/palladium print titled, “Harbor Beach Stone # 45” by fine art photographer Jay Goldsmith. “The print is aspect of a larger sized collection of fascinating and gorgeous formations found in the rocks on Harbor Seashore in York, Maine,” explained Goldsmith.

The method he utilised to make his print is a “handmade” historic photographic process called “platinum/palladium.”   Prints are made by earning a sandwich of a massive format detrimental and a piece of high-quality art paper.  That paper, possessing been coated with a combination of salts and platinum (and/or palladium), is exposed less than a really brilliant ultraviolet gentle and created in a tub to remove the salts. This leaves only the platinum steel embedded involving the paper’s fibers. The image does not sit on best of the paper’s surface, as with an inkjet print.
